Step into the world of Tove Jansson’s moomin books. Moomin Valley of the Tampere Art Museum is an art museum showcasing the original moomin works of the author and artist Tove Jansson. Its unique collection is comprised of around 2,000 works. Life wisdom, humour, brave adventurous mind and warm friendliness address the readers of moomin books, transgressing the limits of language. They have been translated into almost 40 different languages.

MuumitaloMoomin books charm both adults and children and in the museum you can sense the atmosphere of the books. The original moomin illustrations are an essential part of the museum and especially the three-dimentional tableaus, built by Tuulikki Pietilä, complete our conception of the events in the moomin books. The pearl of the collection is a five-floored moomin house which is as distinctive as its inhabitants – and as its builders Tuulikki Pietilä, Pentti Eistola ja Tove Jansson.

Moomin Valley is located in Tampere Art Museum, where everybody can dive into the unique world created by Tove Jansson. It has something to offer for everyone with its adventurous stories, which always have deeper, philosophical viewpoints as well.
