In the local history museum of Vilppula, you will encounter the Vilppula of olden times. Vilppula Museum is composed of three buildings. An exhibition showcasing the history of Vilppula can be found in a stone cowshed in the yard of the Pukkila farm (at Vuorikatu 1). The School Museum is in the main building. Vilppula’s heritage room is found at the new town hall, at Keskuskatu 2, in the centre of Vilppula.
The museum displays, in addition to rural culture, craftsmanship from Vilppula, transport, and athletic achievements. Visitors to the School Museum can sit behind a pupil’s desk in a classroom of days gone by. The stone cowshed and the heritage room are fully accessible (there is a lift to the heritage room). There are stairs in the School Museum.
