Explore the starting point of the literary career of Nobel Prize winner F.E. Sillanpää. He lived in the village of Heinijärvi, in Hämeenkyrö, as an adolescent and in a bedroom in this building wrote his first novel, Elämä ja aurinko (‘Life and the Sun’) (published in 1916), which was inspired by the surrounding landscape and events. The Töllinmäki Museum is run by the F.E. Sillanpää Society. We recommend that you also visit Sillanpää’s childhood home, Myllykolu, which is in the village of Kierikkala.
